What information we may receive

Most of this website can be visited without giving us personal information directly.

  • contact us about collaborating with ALIGN;
  • book a meeting;
  • voluntarily tell us what you would like to discuss.

Depending on how you contact us, this may include your:

  • email address;
  • organization or role;
  • meeting date and time;
  • message, question, challenge or inquiry;
  • any other information you choose to share with us.

Please do not send sensitive personal information unless it is genuinely necessary for the conversation.

Why we use it

We use personal information only where reasonably necessary to:

  • arrange and manage meetings;
  • understand the question, challenge or opportunity you have contacted us about;
  • explore whether there is a reason for us to work together;
  • explore possible collaboration with independent specialists or businesses;

We do not sell personal information.

We do not treat information you give us through a coffee conversation as a mailing-list subscription unless you separately ask to receive communications from us.

Website analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand basic website usage and performance.

This may include information such as page views, referring sources and how visitors experience the technical performance of our pages.

Cloudflare describes Web Analytics as a privacy-first analytics service. According to Cloudflare, the service does not collect or use visitors’ personal data for Web Analytics.

We use this information to understand whether the website is working well and which parts of it are being used — not to build individual visitor profiles or for behavioural advertising.

Booking a meeting

Our meeting calendar is provided by Calendly.

We deliberately do not load the Calendly calendar automatically.

If you choose Load the calendar, or open Calendly directly, you will be interacting with Calendly and Calendly’s own privacy and cookie practices will apply.

Information you enter when booking a meeting may therefore be processed by Calendly and its service providers.

Depending on Calendly’s infrastructure and your location, this may involve processing outside Türkiye.

Calendly provides its own cookie controls and information about how cookies are used within its scheduling experience.

Cookies and third-party services

ALIGN aims to keep tracking on this website minimal.

Cloudflare Web Analytics itself is used for privacy-focused analytics rather than advertising or individual profiling. Cloudflare also explains that some of its infrastructure and security products may use cookies where technically necessary for services such as traffic management, bot protection, rate limiting or security challenges.

Other third-party services may use cookies when you actively choose to use them.

For example, Calendly may use cookies after its scheduling experience is loaded.

We deliberately do not load the Calendly calendar until you choose to do so.

If ALIGN later introduces other analytics, advertising technology or non-essential tracking tools, this Privacy Notice and any necessary consent mechanisms should be updated before those tools are enabled.

Who we may share information with

We may share personal information only where reasonably necessary with service providers that help us operate the website, communications or meeting-booking process.

This may include:

  • website hosting, delivery and security providers;
  • email and communications providers;
  • Cloudflare;
  • Calendly;
  • professional advisers where reasonably necessary;
  • public authorities where disclosure is required by law.

We do not share personal information with third parties for them to independently market products or services to you.

International processing

Some technology providers used by ALIGN may process information through infrastructure located outside Türkiye.

Where personal data is transferred internationally, we aim to use service providers and arrangements consistent with applicable data-protection requirements.

Cloudflare notes that data associated with some of its services may be processed in data centres outside the customer’s country, including in the United States, depending on the service and configuration used.

How long we keep information

We keep personal information only for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected, for legitimate business record-keeping, or where retention is required by law.

We do not aim to keep personal information indefinitely simply because someone once contacted us.

A conversation that goes nowhere does not need to become a permanent database entry.

Your rights

Depending on the law applicable to you, you may have rights regarding your personal information.

Under Türkiye’s Personal Data Protection Law, KVKK, data subjects have rights including, in appropriate circumstances, the right to:

  • learn whether personal data is being processed;
  • request information about processing;
  • learn the purpose of processing and whether data is being used in accordance with that purpose;
  • learn about third parties to whom personal data has been transferred;
  • request correction of incomplete or inaccurate personal data;
  • request deletion or destruction where the applicable conditions are met;
  • request notification of certain corrections or deletions to third parties;
  • object to certain results arising from processing carried out exclusively through automated systems;
  • request compensation where unlawful processing has caused damage.

The Turkish Personal Data Protection Authority also requires data controllers to explain their identity, processing purposes, transfers, collection method/legal basis and data-subject rights as part of the obligation to inform.
